Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026. WattsCalc is a static website. You can use the conduit bending calculator without creating an account, and we do not ask for a name, password, or job-site address to run the math. Bend inputs stay in your browser unless you choose to print or copy them.

We store your inch/millimetre preference locally so your next visit uses the same units. If you choose Save current take-up, we also store one take-up value per EMT size in this browser. Saved take-ups are applied only when you choose Use saved value. Remove a saved value with Forget saved value, or clear all locally stored preferences by clearing site data. The service worker caches pages, styles, scripts, fonts, and icons so the tool works offline. Cached files never include your measurements as a server-side record, because there is no measurement server.

Google Analytics 4 is optional and stays off until you choose Accept. Reject is offered alongside Accept, and Analytics settings lets you withdraw consent. Turning it off stops analytics collection for later activity and attempts to remove this site’s analytics cookies. When enabled, Google may set first-party _ga cookies containing pseudonymous client and session identifiers and process device information and approximate location derived from IP under its own terms. We send sanitized page views and fixed tool lifecycle events only. We do not send conduit measurements, calculated marks, error text, copied values, free text, query strings, URL fragments, submitted personal data, or a cross-site user identity. We do not use GA4 to sell a marketing list.

If Google AdSense is configured, Google and its partners use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. AdSense may use personal data as described in Google's advertising privacy documentation, including to personalize ads where allowed. You can visit Google's ad settings to opt out of personalized ads. Ads are a way to keep the calculator free; they are not required to get a mark spacing.

We do not sell personal information. We do not run a membership database. Email you send to hello@wattscalc.com is kept long enough to answer and then deleted or retained only if the law requires a record (for example a privacy request or a legal dispute). Hosting and DNS providers may see IP addresses in server logs for security and uptime. Those logs are not used to profile electricians.

Children: this site is a trade tool, not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete what we control. For a data-access or deletion request that applies to email or analytics identifiers you can point us to, write to hello@wattscalc.com with the subject Privacy request.

This policy describes the website only. The native WattsCalc iOS app is an offline product with no account, network, analytics, advertising, or data collection; see the separate iOS app privacy page for its practices.
